Twos Classroom Learning Centers

For the love of discovering new skills
It’s time to play and have fun while building new skills and independence. Our Twos Program includes open-ended classroom areas that encourage an exploration of the senses. Children have access to a wide range of early education materials thoughtfully designed to spark their curiosity. Our Learn as We Grow curriculum helps teachers guide their development.

Communication Center

It’s all about creative expression as we begin to read longer stories and move from scribbles to more intentional mark-making. The Communication Center is curated to give our 2-year-old students the materials they need to experiment with as they explore ideas.

Creation Center

Self-expression is a big part of learning. The Creation Center includes hands-on materials to help 2-year-olds turn their cute ideas into a work of art filled with color and texture. From watercolors and finger paints to moldable dough and markers, there’s so much to do!

Discovery Center

Comparing and contrasting items is a simple exercise with complex benefits. That’s what 2-year-olds are exploring in the Discovery Center, where mathematical and scientific concepts begin to take root. Each problem solved is another aha moment to celebrate!

Imagination Center

Embrace your own ideas or bring a friend along for pretend play. Self-expression in the Imagination Center is a fun, creative way for 2-year-olds to role-play or act out creative ideas. Use play food, baby dolls, stuffed animals, musical instruments, and more!

Invention Center

Want to build a track for cars or habitats for a zoo? This is the place! In the Invention Center, 2-year-olds are given the space to become innovators in the way they think, build, and experiment with materials, such as gears, magnetic building blocks, ramps, and mats.

Reflection Center

Children need time to ponder all the learning they’re doing each day. The Reflection Center is a comfortable, quiet area in our classroom that encourages 2-year-olds to slow down, take it all in, and relax. Self-regulation is an important tool for all students.
